The style of editing does not have too much to it, it is simply how the scenes are linked, put together and worked in a way to create the entirety of the sequence.
This could be from jagged editing for a fast paced sequence, on to create and eerie feel with a slow, dramatic turn.
A straight cut for example is a shot that goes from one scene to another instantly without any fades.
