Die Hard with a vengeance analysis

Die hard starts as Bruce Willis is called for upon a phone which later we find out to be a very dangerous terrorist.

As the film begins, a bomb goes off in the city which we find out to be the work of the terrorist organisation. As we learn that the bomb was designed to get the attention of the police as the terrorist actually wanted Bruce Willis reinstated into the police as he had been suspended.

Bruce Willis plays the role of John McLaine who has a history with the 'head terrorists' family, having murdered his brother in the film before.

John is played along as the terrorist threatens to continue blowing up highly populated public places if John does not comply with his orders. As the first task goes ahead John ends up meeting with Samuel L. jackson who plays the role of Zeus, a locksmith who has a strong hatred for white people.

As the film gets in motion John and Zeus are put through numerous tasks to please the terrorist as they work with all of their resources to track him down.

Every time John gets close to the terrorist, who refers to himself as Simon, he always seems to get ahead of him, however as the film comes to its dramatic climax, John and Zeus are captured aboard a ship as they try to find out the code of a bomb inside of Zeus' grandsons school. As they discover there is no real bomb in the school and the real one is on the ship, they escape their deaths as the bomb explodes.

The climax of the film comes as a bottle of aspirin that Simon gives John has the location that he is heading to on the bottom, causing John and the entire police force to turn up and arrest/kill everyone there.

The film uses a Mcguffin of all of the gold in the new york city bank, which we do not really care about but is important nevertheless.
