The introduction for resident evil is very slow with dark, deep music, this is intentional as it is to add a tense feeling to the movie. The credit to the actors and those involved slowly rolls up the screen as it slowly reveals what is actually happening. with everything moving in slow motion it gives them much more time to credit everyone. as it comes to its climax into the actual film, time speeds up and the intro turns from a creepy slow scene into a dramatic fast paced action.
